Rear spring eye to eye measurement

I've been told how the front transverse single spring length is figured ; distance between perches minus 5 inches or set up perches with shackles horizontal for spring eye to eye length...

What about the rear spring, same as the front measuring methods?

You might think so, but that dimension (eye to eye) only comes into play once the spring has been SPREAD (tensioned) and mounted, WITHOUT any weight (the car) placed upon the spring. I would contact your spring supplier with YOUR actual perch measurement (eye to eye), and the length of your shackles and let him determine an appropriate length. DD

I propose a list of the rear spring shackle spans on rear ends. I can measure a 32 and a 40 right off. We would need dims for 35-36 if different from 37-40. I heard 41 is different and then 46-48. I have a stack of rear spings I would love to ID so a dimension along the curve of the bottom spring would be great. I have the spring off the 40 rear so that would be a start.
