rear main seal

I have a flathead engine I believe to be 37 or newer. I'm having trouble finding an oil seal-slinger that fits in the rear main bearing cap. this engine has insert bearings. the problem is finding a piece that fits in the bearing cap that gives enough clearance for the bearing flange. the top or engine slinger is a 6335. I've tried a 6336. Any help anyone can furnish will be greatly appreciated. Ken

Seems I recall reading that the earlier engines didn't have the diecast zinc slinger labrynth that goes in the main cap and block. I checked Van Pelt's site and the '37-'38 block parts drawing doesn't show it.

I have a 37 block, and went through the same thing. Thanks to the people on the Barn I found out that it does not have one. It is called a labrynth seal & the slinger on the crank puts the oil back into the pan. I'm sure someone out there can explain it better than me.
Gary.
