rear main seal 59a ?

I don't think such a thing exists. Take a look at a crankshaft, and I believe you cans see why.

Did some extensive research a few years ago and came to the same conclusion. Learning from my past mistakes.....the hard way.....have come to believe now that a properly installed rope seal will be very satisfactory.....and I hate leakers!!!

Dick.

Both of the rope rear main seals I have installed (I think they were "Fel-Pro") had instructions with them to NOT trim them before installation. I soaked them overnight in oil (even though it shouldn't be necessary these days) and was extra careful when I installed them. So far, no leaks in either.
