Rear License Plate Light

My '59 Galaxie does not have a rear license plate light. Is there supposed to be one? I do not see any wiring for it to connect to.
 
It originally had one. Connected in the trunk to the same Black wire as the tail lights.

My '55 was missing the original wiring & license plate light fixture also. Not unusual.
