Rear Fenders

I am trying to fit the braces to the rear fenders on a 29 roadster, I ordered the braces and I think they are correct but they have to much of an ark to fit the fenders I have. The fenders are flat across the outer surface. Can someone tell me if they are for another year or model and not a 29 roadster?

I sure hope not but the right rear does not have any holes for a tail light, if they were 30/31 wouldn't they have the holes already?

The Model A's didn't come with a right hand taillight, unless the car was shipped to a country where they drive on the left side of the road. Therefore the right fender shouldn't have any holes for mounting a light.

Thanks so far, I see the repo ends are different and I know how poor most things fit but should 29 roadster fenders have as much of a curve as the brace seems to show or are 30/31 fenders flatter? Is there a better way for me to tell the difference between the years? Thanks for the info on the tail lights one more thing I am learning!

My 28 Phaeton has a forged brace and it follows the curve of the fender much better than the stamped one you show. I can't get to my 29 Tudor to see the braces on the rear of it.

Thanks I have a lead on original braces so I will start with them , but looking at photos it looks like I have 31 rear fenders!

Also, maybe it is just my eyes, but they look like sedan fenders not coupe/ roadster/ pickup fenders. Rod

I don't think so but can't be sure from the photos. It appears the problem is partly too much crown in the brackets but not enough in the fenders. the photos were taken quite close with wide angle at the lens which distorts things considerably. It you set the fenders upright next to each other and take a pic from either side front or rear and I can tell you what you have. I can generally tell from any view. Stand back a bit and zoom in and the perspective won't be so distorted.

Hope these help.
