I am restoring a 1931 Model A Deluxe Coupe. The fenders i have do not have the holes for the step plate nor the rear tail lights. Does anyone know where I can get this information?

Put your general location in your profile and maybe someone nearby will let you measure theirs. My '31 is a RDPU so I can't help. Welcome to the barn.

That in one thing that needs to be done by the seat of the pants.I saw one done years ago,the guy had copied a fender on another car.If the arches and crowns are pressed in just a fraction different, the position of the hole won't be the same. The one I saw was measured, and marked to a T.But,when he drilled it and mounted the step pad,it was tlited to the outside and rear of the fender. It wasn't a big deal,he just repositioned it until it was flat, and drilled another hole.It was about 3/4 inch from where it needed to be.The pad covered the extra hole anyway.Lay it flat, get it level, mark and drill it.

I went and measured mine... original 31' Coupe. I started a tape measure from the running board up around the top of the fender and noted the point on the tape at the center of the step pad. 70 inches all the way around the fender, the step pad was at 34". The measurement out from the face of the quarter panel is 3 -5/8 inch. But like Keith suggests, the pad should sit level in both planes.

Here are some dimensions from my 31 coupe fender. Painted fender dimension is from out side lip and bare steel is from the mounting side of the fender. Hope it helps
