Rear Fender Prep

I am, admittedly, not the most experienced or cleverest fellow on this site, but I would like to share a tool I came up with to help me keep my rear fenders stable while doing metal work and prepping them for paint. I made the bolt hole pattern from the existing riser on my pickup bed. This device made the fenders very rigid and kept proper bolt hole spacing. It is reversable, so works for either fender.I was then able to use c-clamps to hold them in position on a sawhorse for spraying primer/color (only have home garage).

Can't tell from the picture are the holes tapped so you can mount the fender to the jig or do you just bolt them?

just bolt holes... didnt see any advantage to threading the jig.
btw .. my truck spent most of its life (as i knew it since 1955) in Lawton...

If you have an engine stand, you could bolt your jig to it, and be able to rotate the fender during painting.

Re: Another Rear Fender Prep

Charlie, that is a nice looking fixture. I did something similar to use for repair work as well as painting.
