Do I see washers on the banjo bolts? If so, a cause for leaks. Looking forward to seeing the solution for removal.
Hi Joe,
Not very Model A related, but in response your unanswered question in #19 above, i.e., what is a faux pas?
The French language is loaded with comical idiomatic expressions which apply to different circumstances; but in this case, a "faux pas" can be thought of as the English expression of a "boo-boo".
Another good example of a faux pas among French people would be for a married man to return from a one week business trip, then ask his wife to empty his suit case. She next begins removing his dirty underwear & discovers a pair of used woman's panties with lace.
Next, in the French language, a faux pas can become more comical & descriptive with more intense added descriptive idiomatic expressions:
For example, a bride walking up the church aisle in a white wedding gown with a size 44 waist, (where everyone can see she is at least 8 months pregnant), no doubt, this is a comical "faux pas" -- but to be more descriptive & comical, this situation is also known amongst the Catholic French people as: "Paques avant le Careme"; i.e., "Easter before Lent."
For example, she gave up ice cream for the 40 day Lenten Season, (from the day after Mardi Gras, i.e., Ash Wednesday until Easter), & but she got weak, broke down, & ate some ice cream prior to Easter Sunday.
Hope this helps. LOL
You could try grinding down a short 1/2 drive extension and use a impact gun on it.
Since you are going to use the key stock, once you get it to fit tight to the square hole, then use a curved jaw Vice Grip to clamp tightly around the plug. This will give you one more turning tool and help to keep the plug from spreading apart when you turn the keystock. Use the adjustable wrench or open end wrench on the keystock 180* from the Vice Grip. This way you can turn just like using a T handle, so you put all the torque into turning, rather than sideways pressure.
Wear leather gloves to protect your hands, if something slips or breaks.
Quickchange has the correct way to get the oil out as a last resort.
Yes QUICKCHANGE Is The Winner, I Used His Idea , Because This Plug Is Not Coming Out, I Cut It Flush And Drained The Oil Out Tru The Lower Banjo Bolt,
All Ok Now.
I Wonder What I Can Send Quickchange For Being The Winner ? Any Ideas ??
Thank You All For All The Good Input & Suggestens

If you undo one bolt that holds the axel housing on the oil will drain out ,
If all else fails arc weld a piece to the old bung ,this will shrink it & allow you to get a grip on it .
Eric i don't think you want to take a chance to get metal chips inside.
Faux pas means 'mis step' ie bad thing to do
1/2 extension ground carefully to fit, then air impact wrench and it will come right out. Put the impact gun on low first and try to 'tighten' it a tiny bit first....you really are just trying to vibrate it. Then medium and reverse it out, again allow it to vibrate. It is the vibration that will work frozen fasteners out every time
