Reamer /Bushing Removal Question

Sorry for what may be a dump question...I have to remove the bushings that the brake and clutch pedal assem. on a 33 Ford ride on. Is the procedure cut with a hack saw to free the bushing or is the purpose of the reamer to do this function?? Also to insert new ones is it by a arbor or hydraulic press ...it would seem the pressure on the end as you push it in would mushroom the bushing ??

Thanks in adavance for all your help

i just drive mine out, but i have a set of bushing drivers, a socket that fits inside the bushing hole will work fine, either use a press or drive them out, i put a slight camphor on the bottom of the bushing and start them by tapping on them to get them inline, then i press them in, make sure the grease holes are lined up , but a machine shop will probably do all that for around $50

I rebuilt the clutch/brake pedal assembly on my '35 Ford. I did not use a reamer to remove the old bushings. I believe I made a tool in my lathe from a piece of bar stock and pushed them out on a hydraulic press. Then used the same tool to push the new bushings in place. If I remember correctly the one bushing was paper thin and took special care to install.

I did a set for a pair of '32 pedals. No problem getting them in or out. I did have a driver made up for the purpose. The clutch pedal was a great fit "as is" on the shaft. I had made a new brake pedal for use with a master cylinder and the ID of the steel bushing welded in was just a little tighter than the clutch pedal, so I used a brake cylinder hone to open that one up for a nice fit.
