Howdy Guys,

in the process of rebuilding my old y block and thought i might as well replace the lifters, it seems finding quality USA made lifters is going to be difficult. I tried ISKY , Elgin and even had a look at the ones on ebay, i dont really know who else to try any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Regards
Rob

Send them out to be reground. They are good quality, resurfacing will make them new if there are no bad rust pits. When I rebuilt my 312, new lifters were hard to find. Its been running ten years with two sets of lifters for a 134 industrial Ford.

I vote for regrinding. Oregon Cam Grinders charges about $4 each. Engine builder and Y specialist Tim McMaster only uses reground lifters from Oregon Cam.
I had them grind a set for my 312 along with the cam too. They have a pretty long list of cam options, mild to wild.
FYI, the Y lifters are the same as found in 1954 and up NAA/model 600 4 cylinder Ford tractors. But NOS tractor lifters are hard to find.

Try EGGE Machine Company - Parts and Services for Nostalgic Motors http://www.egge.com lists them new or will resurface yours and I always have had good luck with them in the past. EGGE can take care of all your valve train needs from cam grinding to rocker arm remanufacturing. EGGE is in Santa Fe Springs, just down the street from Moon Equipment if anyone lives in California.

And I'll vote for OCG also. Mike turned me on to them by mentioning them on another site.

Any of the names mentioned will have quality parts and good service. I've had good luck with Delta Camshaft in Tacoma, Washington, too. Had lifters, rocker arms and cams ground by them. They do quality work and the prices are much better than buying new.

Rocker Arms .com, (formerly Rocker Arm Specialties), has had a set of Y block rockers and new shafts I sent them since before Christmas. They have not returned six calls over the past two weeks. With the list of regrinders above, why would I send more to them?
