Finally got the new engine for Big Blue running good today. Here's a few pictures showing the thermostat housing from Vintage. I like it...

Great looking set up, Jim. A lot nicer than having it up inside the hose. Very nice engine stand also!

The "engine stand" is actually the frame, and the body is sitting 6 feet above it, ready to drop down. Yes, I am very pleased with the Vintage Thermstat housing. It gives you a place for the sender for the gauge and also a port to get hot water from so you can run a heater so that will lengthen my driving season. Great addition as far as I concerned.

The clutch and pressure plate are from an 86 Thunderbird. The clutch splines will fit the F150 4 speed OD transmission that I am installing.

Jim,
Your pictures interest me quite a bit. Mainly because you have a lot of the same stuff as I do: Vintiage Thermostat housing, Alternator, Diaphragm Pressure Plate, F150 4-speed OD, etc. I notice on your "stand" you have the gages and ignition/start switch. Are these the ones you will be using in the car? or are they just for the stand? If they are going in the car, what did you use for the gages and the ignition/start switch? I've been especially looking for an ignition/start switch that would fit in the factory dash plate. Thanks, Carl

I'm glad you like the housing Jim. Here is a little more info on the kit for any that have questions about it. It includes a 160 degree thermostat, the base with ports (1/2" NPT, 1/4" NPT) and plugs for temp gauge senders / heater option, 45 degree bent neck for standard 2" hose, O-ring and bolts, instructions, painted ready to install. - $92.50 ea. - In Stock

Very Nice Jim;

I am looking forward to seeing Big Blue (and you of course) this summer, or perhaps at Stirling in early May.

Carl, all these guages and switches will be used in the car. The ignition switch is too big to go in behind the instrument panel, but there is one coming on sale at Performance Improvements, (a speed shop) on April 1, so I will use it instead. The gauges, a volt meter and temperature guage, (100-250) are AutoMeters. When I get the switch I will PM you.
The "stand" was made so I could start the engine, and then with the matching "seat", I can actually drive the frame around and get the bugs out before I drop the body back down on it. It sure makes it easier to work on... Are you driving your car with this set up in it, and how do you like it?

925DiabloA, thats twice now you have used me for advertising, your product is great and looks really good! Well made and machined and buying was easy. Delievery was great, only 4 days from your place to mine in Toronto. (You have my address to send my commissions!) (haha) Jim

I'm not quite that far along with mine just yet. The flywheel/clutch/pressure plate are paitently waiting on the bench for the transmission to arrive. It's way overdue, gotta jack up the supplier and get it moving. Everything is done on the engine, just playing the waiting game. Will appreciate the info on the switch. Thanks, Carl

For an update, the guages are AutoMeter. There is a Mechanical Temperature gauge, 100-250, p/n 4332. The 12v Electrical one is p/n 5737, 100-250 as well. The sender goes nicely in the Vintage Thermostat holder small hole, leaving the larger one for the heater. (We are North of the 49th) I really like these short sweep gauges as it puts the optimum temperature with the needle almost vertical.There is also a light kit that comes with it. The Volt meter is p/n 5791. 12v for the Alternator. Jim
