Radius Rod Question

Probably does not make much difference, But - Does it make a difference on the direction the front bolt is installed, for the radius rods on fine point judging? Nut on the Drivers side or the Passenger side.
Thanks Guys; Tom

I thought the nut was on the right side, but now you have me wondering. I sure wish there was a good book with ALL factory photos taken during the Model A years at the Ford assembly plants.

I'll bet Marco or Vince has a good factory photo showing the direction.

I believe the lock washer and nut is on the driver side, at least this is how I found it assembled on my A with a little over 25,000 original miles ?

I did not receive any deduction in fine point.

It would make sense to install the bolt from the right side, with the nut on the left. I find most of them are installed that way. This will allow you to remove the left radius rod and left axle housing, leaving the right side intact. This is how you would replace a broken rear axle shaft without removing the rear end from the car.

Here is a picture I found on page 222 of the Feb. 1928 Service Bulletins. It shows the bolt head on the right and the nut on the left (driver's side). It is much clearer in the book.
