radius rod ball retainer/cap

My '21 touring has a homemade (not made by me) part retaining the radius rod ball end to the oil pan. Two mismatched bolts (not studs), one without a washer, one with a one size too large lockwasher . No cotter pins or safety wire.It HAS to be replaced. I see there are choices in replacements. How do I know which one to buy? Thanks.

Both types of caps, the original and APCO type used the same studs, springs, nuts and safety wire to mount.

What do you mean by choices? Caps or mounting kits? Ether cap will work the stud kits are all the same except for the VERY early T's.

The APCO, though pricier than the others is great for a ball that's worn a bit and most are. Langs # 2736 APC. You have the wrong studs so the mounting bolt set is going to be a must. Langs # 2742S. There are also shims that can be used with the standard steel cap. The APCO will run about $50 with the stud kit. The standard set up about $30 with the studs and shim kits. The APCO is really worth the extra $ though. I have no affiliation with Lang's and other parts houses sell them too.

Thanks. I can see no wear on the ball on my car. I believe the wishbone is new. It came with the car. A lot of the car is new. I know that retaining the ball is critical for safely driving the car. Should I use loctite on the threads when installing the studs?
I have quite a few more questions about my car , but I'm trying not to jump in here and flood the forum all at once. It is nice to have somewhere to ask questions . Thanks again.

The loctite is not needed. The safety wire is threaded thru both studs in a figure 8 pattern and keeps the studs from turning out.
