Radius Ball Washer

Hey guys, I just got my parts in from Mike's. I ordered one of those radius ball washers. Installed it. But.... To get the cotter pins back into the castle nuts I would have to compress the springs which I know ain't right. What am I missing here? My radius ball looks pretty round. What should I do? or check? Sure would appreciate a quick answer. I am under her now working around. Thanks Bill:cool:

If the radius rod ball is as round as you say it is, and the cap and socket are decent and show no wear...remove the washer...Originally there was no washer in that area of assembly.

Hopefully you have a book that shows the correct assembly of that area.

I think your right. I made sure the sleeves were through the bottom cap so I know there is no binding there. I think Iwill make me a magnetic video capture camera so I can look at all the wobbling going on as it happens underneth while I am driving. I didn't order new caps and probably should have. Thanks Bill

Re: Radius Ball Update

Hey Guys, I put the radius ball back together using what was there except I used new springs on the sides. The old ones appeared a bit soft and skewed. I just got back from a 20 mile road trip. I noticed that the steering wheel was tighter and it didn't even wobble once. I drove it on my dirt road, hiway, and side streets. I'm not saying it is totally fixed but it sure did good where before every minute they would start wobbling. Bill
