Radius Ball Question

I have my radius ball out of the pocket in the transmission and when it was measured it was within 0.001” of being round. Meaning the difference between the vertical and horizontal measurements was 0.001”. I have been looking through my books and can’t find what the ball diameter is supposed to be. Anyone have an idea what the new part dimension should be? Knowing the new part tolerance would be interesting as well.

Hello, I would think that being within .001 would be more that acceptable,I have seen them with visible wear from top and bottom.Hopefully someone will have one they can measure.

Mine is 1.491 in one direction and 1.492 in the other so I should be good. As always thanks for the help,

The general rule is how well it fits into the socket. They just used springs & bushings to hold it clamped up so as long as it will fit without slop then it will work.
