Hi to all i havent been on the barn for a while. I am looking to put a new aluminum rad. in my org. flathead 40 coupe. one i located on e bay is made by (BTR) Brice Thomas Rad. all suggestions are greatly apprecited. thanks again for all the previous help . John
I see no need for an aluminum radiator on a flathead engine, harder to find someone to repair them if ever needed and they don't cool that much better. jmo
I would stay with a copper/brass radiator. Check prices with US Radiator. My neighbor got one from them for his 53 and it was very reasonable. The quality looks excellent.
Copper has a better thermal conductivity than aluminum. Get a brass radiator with a copper core. Find one that has the cooling fins running the full width of the radiator with the tubes running through the fins. Don't use one that has fins pressed in a zig zag between the tubes.
