Radiator Splash Apron Accessory?

On the back cover of the March/April issue of The Restorer is a blue ‘30 Tudor with an unusual radiator splash apron. Unless my eyes deceive me, it looks to be a bead-rolled panel that fills the void between the bumper and grille, covering the lower portion of the radiator shell and crank hole. What am I looking at here? Is this an accessory or a one-off piece? If anyone knows what it is or if the owner of the car is out there, I’m intrigued.

Yes, it is a very nice tool box made by a fellow Barner (who's name escapes me right now). They were sold by Mike's A-Ford able. There were two different models.

I carry a small bottle jack, a wheel chock, some rags and various small tools in mine.

The square box holds more stuff than the curved box. Both prevent the use of the hand crank. The square box makes a good seat. I lined my tool box with cardboard to avoid my tools from rattling.

Y-BlockheadNICE looking set-up including those TIRE COVERS PLUS Car Cover!

Thanks Cape Codder. Yeah, Unfortunately I don't have any room in my garage because of my '55 Ranchwagon and a bunch of other stuff. So the Ol' Girl has to stay under a Costco 10' X 20' tent bundled in a Cover Craft SunBrella cover and wheel covers to protect the tires from the afternoon sun.

Just as well because she is the car I drive the most.

The box with all of my travel stuff weighs less than 20 labs. I do not notice any negatives with the front suspension on my "A". To the contrary, I would be a wealthy person if I had a buck for every sagging rear trunk I have seen on Model "A's".:D

There is a guy who is making these again, it isn't the original fella but someone who was gifted in metal work. I ordered one and have it sitting in my office. I don't have his info in front of me (I will try and find it). I told him he needed to go on the FB and let people know that one is available again. I know many people have asked about these and were just told they were not available. I will look and find my info and post it. I saw it in a Club newsletter and called him and ordered mine.

if the guys really interested in manufacturing these, he should et in contact with at least one of the major sellers, because he doesn't want to get into the trouble of sending things abroad. Snyders et. al. have all that sorted out.

i would be interested in buying one of those boxes but only from somebody who will accept credit card and can ship via UPS or FEDEX.

Maybe this guy that makes them can also make the old Model T Gas, Oil, and Water Tanks again that are bolted to the running board of the car as the tanks are all locked together by the handle, as a few years ago someone was also remaking those but stopped making them the reason is I would like to buy a set of those tanks as I have been looking for the original ones with no luck at all.
