radiator shell rebuild

hi guys, I could use some help here. I'm rebuilding a 30-31 s.s. radiator shell. I need to remove the oval ford emblem off of the top piece , the piece thats supposed to be painted the same as the body color. some one in the distant past had gobbed a mess of body filler into it to hold it in place[I guess] . I have removed most of the filler but i can't quite make out how it comes apart. if some one could post a pic. of what it looks like, maybe i could figure it out. thanks for looking, THE HOOCH

It’s rather a press fit. Maybe more body filler holding it in? Take a heat gun and
melt the filler. Tap with something close in size…socket? It might come out easier than you think
Just a thought

I'm not sure if you are trying to get the whole painted part off or remove the Ford emblem. The whole painted part should have tabs that you can bend back.

Sphooch - the emblem on my ‘31 was missing except for the steel cap-shaped part that secures it into the shell. Mine was tack-welded to the shell. I used a burr to grind off the tack welds and silicon sealer on the mounting cap to secure it to the shell. ☘️😎
