Radiator Shell Crank Hole Cover

I am restoring a 1930 CCPU. I recently had the steel radiator shell painted black. I am now getting ready to install the grommets, emblem and crank hole cover.

It is my understanding that the crank hole cover on this radiator shell is stainless steel. Correct? So, is the crank hole cover finish to remain as stainless steel, and not be painted black? Same question for the crank hole cover rivet - black or ??

Thanks.

I have a N.O.S. 1930 steel radiator shell, and still has original part number on one side and never been fitted to a vehicle. The crank hole cover is stainless, unpainted and the rivet is raven finished.

Hope this helps

Is yours the 28-29 body style? I have a late 28 CCPU, my radiator shell crank is made of brass and was painted black.
