radiator rod washers

My July 1, 1931 Parts Price List states the front of the radiator rod (A-8133-B) is fastened to the radiator bracket with 2 nuts (A-21702-S2), 1 cup washer (A-22337) and 2 washers (A-22217). This is for one rod, double for both rods. My question is where does the 1 cup washer go? Looks like if you need 1 cup washer you would need 2 or 1 on each side of the radiator bracket. Obviously you need a nut and washer (lock) on each side of the radiator bracket so wouldn't it seem logical the sequence would be nut, lock washer, washer, radiator bracket, washer, lock washer and nut. This could be a typo in the Parts Price List book (not uncommon). What do you guys with the original cars note. Curious in San Diego (70 degrees today) grin!!!

I believe the cup washer is part of the mounting hardware at the fire wall, not on the radiator end of the rod ? On my 30, at the radiator end of the rod, there are 2 nuts with 2 lockwashers in-between the nuts, when mounted a lock washer is on each side of the radiator bracket.

I agree that doesn't sound right. I've only seen one cup washer at the firewall like this factory archive photo March,31
On a related issue... there's an error with the lock washer thickness when you look in the Standard Hardware Guide.
They call for the thin lock washers, but I've seen the thicker ones on some high point cars. It makes more sense to me, given the uneven mounting point, to have a stronger & thicker lock.
