Radiator leak, Patch it or some sort or proper fix?

Took my wife's elderly grandfather out for a spin yesterday in the '26 since he drove one as a teen and we returned with a hole in the bottom of the radiator. the hold is square in the middle of the bottom and is about 1/8"

My question is would one of those epoxy putty patches work or am I foolish not to remove the radiator and take it to a shop for a proper fix?

You can fix it yourself ,if you take it off,and clean the area around hole,then just solder a patch on it. Brass shim stock will work. Likely you are hitting the bottom on the front spring hanger. Might check that and the integrity of radiator mounting springs.
