A number of days ago there was a post that questioned why the hose clamps being offered by Carpenter, C&G, Macs, etc. are too small to properly install and subsequently seal the hoses on a '39 and '40 Ford.
I did a little research and found that the clamps being reproduced are #B-8287 with a diameter of 2.125". The required clamp (supplied by Ford from January '39 forward) was #91A-8287 with a diameter of 2.28".
This change in design was made to accommodate the larger outside diameter hoses being installed at that time.
