radiator cap

Need help: Just put a newly rebuilt flathead V8 in my 50 ford and installed a Champion Chrome Radiator. Problem: engine calls for a 4 PSI cap and the one that came with the radiator is a 16 PSI. Can't find a 4 or 5 psi cap that will fit the radiator.

Engine might handle higher pressure; however, been advised that the heater core (stock) will not.

Anyone know where I can find a low psi cap to fit the champion radiator.

Msg me here or my email moonlyn@gmail.com (email is quicker)

Chances are that the filler neck that was installed may not be compatible with a stock type low pressure cap.
They say in their ad that a 16 lb. cap is included.
Contact the manufacturer to see what they have that will be compatible to the filler that they installed.

Thanks for the info 51 Merc-ct. Yes it came with a 16 psi cap but too much pressure for the heater core. Sent msgs to Champion but no response.

Most caps will fit but the 4 psi standard one is to short (does not reach bottom of the neck so can't work), bought 5 psi one from O'reilly's but its too long and can't close so still looking if anyone can help.

I found a 7 lb chrome cap for my Champion radiator, which the heater can handle. Wish I could remember where I got it.
