Radiator badge??

I've bought a new badge (ex-Snyders) for my 28-29 radiator shell. I cant see how it gets attached. There is a little cup with a flange sweated to the back of the badge which obviously goes through the hole in the shell, but then what? Does the flange have to be bent up to insert and then bent out to locate? Or is there another piece like a spring clip or something to lock it in?

If the emblem is made correctly, and many repro items are not, it should just press in tightly. You need to be careful not to crack the blue material in the emblem. It is best to lay the shell flat on a hard surface covered with a soft material over it and press the shell onto the emblem if the shell is not on the radiator. If the shell is on the car, you should use a hard board or something to distribute the pressure over the whole emblem when it is presses into the shell hole. I think a little J-B Weld would make sure the emblem doesn't fall out.

Its a press fit, Normally, is it a Canada Black one or blue Usa one,? Same goes for removal tap it out with broom handle, Derek.

Hi Derek. It's a blue one. I can see now that its a tight fit, I'll probably have to remove some of the paint in the hole. You got that crankshaft sorted yet?
