Radiator advice

My theory is if you replace the engine you replace the radiator with it. Works for me. Think about how many times you have had that old radiator in and out plus the labor. Do it once and forget about. Sofield

How often should you pull the water pump to check the propeller to make sure it is pumping right. Guage stays right on 180 with new radiator. Everybody seems to be at 160 if everything is good.

Our 1929 keeper runs around 160 degrees even on a hot summer day.

After a 15 or 20 mile drive with 20-50 oil in crankcase, oil pressure is still around 3 lbs. engine is hot, but you can still touch head. You can touch radiator. Not for long though.

We do not use thermostat and use water only with rust inhibitor. Dripless water pump. I know I have written more than needed. Sorry. Enjoy.

Hang on to the old one until you get through next summer. Would like to hear how the temp is then with the new one. There are a lot of reasons for an engine to run hot, the radiator is just one of them.
