Radial tires

i had coker classics (tread looked like radial t/a) on my '47 ford awhile they seemed to wear ok. i went with diamond back tires now and they're wearing great, the thing i like about diamond back tires is that they're production tires...meaning they're regular tire brands that they bond whitewalls to. with production tires the defects are not there because the general public wouldn't buy them, with specialty tires they kinda test as they go. the tires i have on the '47 now are 195/75R16 and they're a euro van tire, which look good and square (same ones as the A pic above).

Any size recommendations for the radial tires I can buy down town. Just need some get me by tires for that 38 pu. I am thinking 225 70r16's right now. Have not called the local tire dealers to see if thay have any used ones yet. Just need it to be alittle easier to move around and possibly afew short road tests after I work the brakes over. Rod

my '54 panel has late 50's 16x5 stock wheels and i'm running BF commercial T/As on (LT215/85R16), tall and square. personally i don't like wide tires, unless it's the rear of a hot rod.....and even then maybe a 7.50 on a fenderless car.

I bought my 51 with bias ply tires drove home 60 mi. the car was all over the road, put coker w/w on drove home like a new car STEERS great. no more BIAS ply tires for me. Harold, central coast Ca.

I have the Coker classic radials on my 30 Model A Town Sedan 650-16. A world of difference. Tracks well and even stops better. Love em.

Been driving my roadster with the Coker Classic blackwalls (5.50x16 and 7.50x16) since last Friday and they're pretty good. They are the only ones that go close to looking like a bias tyre, unfortunately (for some) they only come in 16".

Just saw this was post # 32 for me. Good number!
