Radial tires on spoke wheels

The cause of the crack in my rim was very bad rust pitting on the inside of the rim,It had been sand blasted and powder coated long ago and as it was the spare never gave it a thought, until we had to use it and the crack showed up.
probably it did about 400ks before I saw it,
The rim is now a garden hose reel at mates place.

I did Excelsior radials on a 32 highboy roadster last fall on35 wires in front and 2 inch widened 32 wires in back and assembled them tubeless. Seemed fine although I never drove the car, Sold it as a project.
