QuietRide...Comments/Recommendations????

Thanks "Y", yes it does go inside the cabin. And the kick panels I got are black and match the firewall insulator exactly.

Anyone here ever replace your floorboards from Snyders or anywhere else? Just wondering about the fit and any modifications you had to do?

Thanks "Y" and Carl. Will be on my winter work list. How about the wood floor boards? QuietRide has a kit for that too. Anyone try it?

After ALL that work & money, it won't even SOUND like a Model A! Why not just get yourself an ELECTRIC car & a LOOOOOOOONG extension cord?--(HMMMMMN!)

Bill, I can't speak for everyone but as for me, the distinctive sound of a Model A cruising down the street will still be heard by all those watching as we drive by, while I'm listening, in quiet, to my RAP coming from my in-dash stereo sound system that I have installed.;)

Well fellas and ladies!!! The new floorboards just arrived and the question is, should the boards be stained/waterproofed, etc etc?

Taking into consideration that the heat shield will be road side down and the bare side will be inside the cab. My edjamakated guess would be, leave them bare so the adhesive/glue would be more affective. What say those with more experience? (with Model A's) ;)

Bill. I totally agree with you. But with his 17 posts on the subject he must prefer quiet over classic. I love my Model A sound. Wayne

Good thing you're almost finished, I think someone is auctioning off Sarah...:eek:

By golly....that's her older sister, in her 1930 dress. Looks like she has proper apple green wheels. She has running boards step plates also. I had heard that my Sarah had an older sister that went wayward some. Must be her with those steps!!!!!!!!!!:D:D

I would paint the floorboards a satin black. They will wipe down a little easier and have a good look to them. Make sure the holes line up and the boards fit properly first.
The floorboard anti squeak around the sides an bottom should be tacked on as well

Larry

I agree with Larry. I have some original boards and you can see the black paint, and the anti squeak is folded on itself where it bends at the corners. It is not mitered for a smoother corner fold.

Thanks fellas...black it will be and I have some on hand. Hope to get this done today, heat and dew point has subsided for a few days.

Cheers

Of course it didn't go all according to plan but when in my civilian life has anything gone to plan:rolleyes:. Like I have said all along, civilian life should be more organized and regimental and march to the same cadence!!!! :D

Well, the report is in.

Her new clutch and brake foot pads are perfect.......noise reduction is better than it was, should be better when I get a rebuilt carb for Christmas!!! ;);););)
Although the feet felt cooler than before, still got quite warm inside and I had the windows open too. I'll surely put in that heat shield this winter. That's where most of the heat was coming from now.

It was nice to get out again, heat has kept us house and garage bound.

Cheers.............

Down pours have finished and now the high 90s and humidity is returning to allow the tar to seep back through the pavement so.....I've decided to go ahead and install a heat shield instead of waiting for the winter. Give me something positive to do while I wait for my next time out with Sarah.

I cheated. Didn't have to take anything loose. I made insisions in the insulator where you can't see them. (Does that make me a plastic surgeon?)

Would have been a different story if I already had things apart.

Carl, what did you use to cut the insulator?
