Max Musgrove aka Uncle Max. A kit will come with a power valve. A grose jet is the fuel inlet that uses a couple of balls for the fuel shut off instead of the standard needle. This would not be in a standard kit. You could request one sent along.

You can buy all the Stromberg 97 rebuild parts you need from MAC's Antique Auto Parts. They carry many standard quality parts plus most all the high quality parts from Stromberg LTD, in England. If you don't have a MAC's catalog you could go on line to their website, see what they have, and place your order. http://www.macsautoparts.com/ You can also get 97's and other model carbs rebuilt by Ken CT or Charlie NY. Both of these guys do good work

I have good american made kits.No kits come with PV. I put old style steel needle in kits, pumps are old style leather ones, special double thick top gasket. ken ct. email igadore@sbcglobal.net. for further info.

Well, here comes the recommendation --- after years of walking by Ken's Carb's, I stopped and purchased an 8BA from him last year at Hershey.
All I can say is anyone can 'try' and rebuild a carb themselves, but pay the money and get one that looks, works, and is done right.
I couldn't be happier. Well worth it, and somewhere, sometime, you will realize what YOUR time is worth, and pay someone for doing the job right the first time, and saving your time. (remember, we only have so much time here --- spend it wisely)

Very happy and driving down the road to prove it!!!

:D The guy from 'Up North'

Try "Uncle Max" he has genuine Stromberg parts and is a great guy to dael with , plus very knowlegeable about Strombergs.

We are lucky we have three good carb rebuild guys who post here often. I live in the northeast and have one of Ken's carbs on my car. Like I said we have at least three quality rebuilders that post here often. LouB.

I have used the Grose jet and find that it sticks shut and leaks by worse than the old needle and seat.Another trouble maker is the Viton soft tip needle,it sticks shut often.

I had my carb rebuilt by Uncle Max probably two years ago. I installed it and haven't touched it since. Looks good, runs better. He's the man.
