question on oil pump drive cover 46 ford flathead

How would you get the center piece out of the cover that the gear rides on between cam and pump to use in a new cover as mine is crack and needs to be replaced ?

It's threaded use a bolt and puller to remove.

The oil pump idler pin is pressed into the cover its not threaded. Since your original cover is cracked just use a little heat from a propane torch to warm the cover around the pin hole then just tap it out with a hammer and punch. Heat the new cover the same way and carefully press the pin into the cover.
