Question on Brake Lites 31 Ford Model A

I attempted to install the 3rd brake lite by following the instructions.
Each time I connected the ground wire, the brake lite would come "on" even without the pedal depressed or switch in "on" position.
I then called the company who sold me the brake lite and they said to try connecting it too the brake lite switch using a jumper wire. I did that and no change.
I then removed the 3rd brake lite all together and then realized none of the rear lites work at all now!
Ay suggestions would help, I`m at a loss at this time.

I'm also lost without more information and a wiring diagram, but if the lights came on, then you have power in the wires when you shouldn't. At least you shouldn't as long as you have the lights and brake switch turned off. So the problem is forward in the system and not in the new lights.

Try different bulbs, might have blown them. I went to a car show and had my running lights on for the trip there. When leaving a guy told me my rear running lights didnt work. Next day I checked a bulb and it looked good with my eyes, but my test light said I had power to the socket. So I put in a new bulb and worked, same with other side. Looked fine could see the wire all the way across and looked connected on both ends, very strange.

Do you have the third brake light with the directional signals in as well? I remember putting the green and white wire together and running to brake switch Im pretty sure.

After rereading your question, I see I missed the simple solution the first time around.
Just connect the wire to the OTHER brake light switch terminal. (the UNPOWERED terminal)
