Question about 1939 Windshield Wiper access

A friend recently bought a 1939 Standard sedan. We can't tell how to access the windshield wiper motors. Any suggestions? Do we have to take the headliner out? It's a lot different than the 1934's that I'm use to.

Phil,
You'll need to remove the operating knob from the wiper control stem. Then remove the inner windshield moldings.
Then, with due care, pull back the headliner where it is currently tacked in above the windshield.
There is only one motor.
I've attached a photo to give you some idea what it looks like "under there".

Mike, I see one advantage to owning a 1939 or 1940 ford , you will have a picture of any part that I need.
Thank you for bailing so many of us out. You are a huge resorse of knowledge.
