I have this '30/31 stone guard hanging in it's storage spot for a long time. My rig ('30 roadster..ugly duck) is not the type of driver that would put up with such glitz! Someone wanted it but ask..."if it is original or repo"..HOW TO TELL?

I will defer to the experts but stone guards are not listed in the Service Bulletins where there is data on Ford issued accessories. Also the 1930 stone guard and the 1931 stone guard are different in that the location of the opening to view the Ford insignia on the radiator shell is in a different place.

barnsfuf,
Thanks, that helps somewhat. At least I can recheck opening location to ascertain 30 or 31..I didn't know that! Well, then...the answer must be that there ISN'T a correct answer, if as you say there are no 'original' ford issued stone quards, no??

While I'm not aware of any "Ford issued" stone guards, does yours look anything like this?

BTW, my Roadster refused to put up with such glitz, too. But, it does make a nice hanging decoration in the Garage Mahal.
