The front of that cam has been faced off. Who knows why. That's not good. I would call that cam junk.
On press on gears there is a small mark on the hub. If it is a new gear,
there will be a scribed line following this mark through the bore of the gear.
The mark in the bore is sometimes obscured on a gear that has been installed.
This mark is aligned with a similar mark on the cam.
The distributor drive slot has NOTHING to do with proper alignment of the cam drive
gear.
