Push rod bushing

Can anyone tell me the inside dia of the fuel pump pushrod bushing? The pushrod dia is .370 on both the old and new pushrod. When inserted into the bushing the fit is tight. When the engine is turned over the push rod will not move up and down. this occurs with both the old and new pushrods seated. The engine is a 59 block, the new pushrod is shorter as I am using a stock Al intake. Any suggestions ? Thanks RR

If both rods are tight, the bushing may be damaged...The rod should move up and down freely.
If it will not move up and down with turning the engine over, the fuel pump lobe may be worn out.
If the fuel pump lobe is gone the material that wore off is most likely circulating through the engine.

The key here is what's the inside dia. of your bushing. Measure it and then adjust accordingly by turning the pushrod or reaming the bushing.:)

And...I had a tight one once. It was installed by the shop that did the boring, and the tightness was just a lip left at the very top by unwise violence in installation. The first touch with a 3/8 reamer cleaned it right up.
