problem # 2 left key on 0n 40 ford

left key on over night car will start but when you speed up motor you here a click and ameter goes to discharge can some one solve this one on my 40 ford len

I'm not sure but, I think that depending on the position of the points, they will burn out. That may cause a direct short causing the ammeter to go right over. Byron.
