It's a little after 8.30 am Tuesday here now but last night, I opened FB and there was a PM waiting for me. I had this Your Notifications : 1 at the top of the screen. When I opened it, all it contained was a member's profile - no message. I won't mention which member but I sent him a message asking if he had done it somehow by mistake or..... Once we have dealt with a PM, the red notification normally turns black again but not this one. I also sent a PM to Ryan about it because something is clearly not right. I have not had a reply from either some 12 hours later. I still have the red notification.
Has anybody else had anything similar?

I've had issues with PM's in the past, but nothing like you describe, and no issues for several years

Try deleting the in-box messages.

I logged out, cleared cookies and logged back in. The notification was still there.

Go to your inbox list.
Check off the box on the right side of that message.
Go to the bottom and select delete.

That's what I tried first but "delete" doesn't do a thing

Do a right click on the link to the message, click on delete in the drop down menu.

There was a bit more to it than checking the box and selecting Delete but my computer whisperer wife got it done.
