Prices are certainly down

And then there is this. Certainly not in the same realm as the others in this thread, but a worthwhile flathead car for a start. The area where this car was hauled from is high desert, very dry . much like Arizona. Of course no affiliation, but since this thread is entitled 'Sign of the Times' it fits

Oh, that's right ... A 4 door. As a strictly truck guy I always thought a 4 door would be more desireable because of the ease for the rear passengers. At some point in my life I realized that the whole car thing was about 2 doors and hardtops etc being more sporty and the cool thing, so when I saw this ad I never even thought about it being a 4 door. The stuff of 'family guys' and 'old lady school teachers'. Seems the value never got very high for any 4 door cars. I stand corrected.

4 Door (Fordor) Cars a certainly more functional than a 2 Door (Tudor) Car and therefore more to my liking. I get claustrophobic in the back seat of a 2 door car...

A picture may be worth a thousands but I will NEVER buy another car if I cannot put my own peepers on it! They're like Cracker Jacks with a surprise in ever box. Actually, lots of surprises!

Gary,
One thing that surprises me is some of the younger people don't seem to have the aversion to 4 doors (Fordor) that our generation did. The least valuable car I have is my 1946 Fordor. My nephew thinks it's cool because it has the "suicide" rear doors. I have a friend in his 70's that insists all 4 doors are parts cars. Go figure.

I'm 73 and I still like cars with four doors (and old farm trucks with with patched up fenders). Wouldn't trade a one of them for a hot rod roadster. Perhaps Barbara Mandrell said it best when she sang , 'I was country when country wasn't cool'.

Got a laugh out of that one .Rock ,

WAS going to post earlier

We will see this car in a few years or so advertised as a "Real Henry Ford Steel" chopped, channeled, sectioned, filleted, diced, massaged, Hodge-podged and bubble gum colored "for sale".

Mark, wouldn't it be ironic if the next generation prefered an easy access fordoor to a tudoor?
Maybe they all huddle back there and pass the Vape around?

Yes, the "kids" like 4 doors. My children 17 and 20 have only known a world filled with 4 door vehicles (despite me having 6 two-door cars currently). Look on the road all you will see is 4 doors. There are so few 2 door new cars out there, basically a handful of import sports cars, exotics and domestically just the charger/mustang/corvette. I would never buy a collector 4 door but have two "regular" 4 doors. As a 50something, in my mind 4 doors are great for Lowriders and parts cars. Does a rumble seat count as a 3 door......

Gonna 'one up' you tudor guys and buy one of those Model Ts with just 1 door.

Although I have been aware of what has happened to the market, I am stunned by the extent of the drop. I currently have my '41 Mercury Sedan coupe on Hemmings make an offer site . I have it listed for $24,900. Currently pushing 1000 lookers, 13 watchers. Any and all comments welcome, critical or not.

I love the car and a at 86 and going through a rough patch it seems it is best that I part with it.
