Pressure plate issue through inspection

I need some advise on whether to clean this pressure plate surface with brake cleaner?
I removed the inspection cover on trans and found sticky dry oil on pp outer
Surface. The clutch fingers are out of adjustment by quite a bit.
Clutch was juddering from 1-2 shift.
Should I soak it down or just adjust fingers and hope the judder is resolved?

looks like someone is over greasing the throw out bearing. you can wipe it down, but I would NOT use any cleaner. if the clutch is not slipping, I would just leave it only.

You could use some wax and grease remover on a rag and turn the engine by hand to remove most of what is there. Now you can adjust the fingers carefully.

Thank you for the replies. I’m glad I didn’t super soaker it LOL
I’ll keep it contained with a rag so it doesn’t sling elsewhere.

If your throwout bearing is taking grease it is an original type bearing. The new replacements cannot be greased.

The grease on the pressure plate is a cosmetic issue. Wipe it off the best you can. The more important issue is getting the fingers to be the exact same height. The exact height is not all that important. The specification is within 0.002 inch, so pretty much exactly the same height.
