I'm getting a power gen alternator for my 52 customline. Can someone
tell me how to wire this thing and being able to use my original amp meter in the dash. Thank You. Tom....

Follow the instructions that come the alternator, they are easy to use. You will need to go to 10 gauge wire.

I assume the Alt. is a one wire unit if so #1 leave existing wires there 2 connect the armature fat wire to alt 3 go to original voltage regulator remove that ARM wire and connect to BAT terminal 4 some alternators have isolated ground terminal so connect a wire from that to a nut on carburetor. Where do we stand now - the regulator is dead the generator wires are still there in case you go back to generator no cutting wires and the two wires at the Alt are gen field & ground still attached to regulator are also dead.

big job, yes, it is a 1 wire alternator 6-volt positive ground. When I disconnect the arm wire at the voltage reg do I leave the battery wire on the post plus put the arm wire on it?
Thanks, Tom.

Yes leave Bat wire there and connect ARM wire onto it (BAT). ARM wire connects to ALT
This is because on the reg that Bat terminal is the feed and this feed goes thru the Amp
gauge loop which feeds the system. I have always called a loop style Amp meter a induction type gauge used on Ford products. Tom
