Posting pictures

I'm trying to send pictures to a PM or the Email feature here on the barn.I'm obviously not smart enough to do it my self.This probably has been covered before(many times).If someone could point me in that direction or explain in terms that even a simple computer person could understand I would much appreciate it

Believe you have to have your pictures in a picture hosting site such a Photobucket and download them from there to insert them in PM.
 
You can also include a picture that you have stored in your album under User CP (control panel). Click on the picture to enlarge it, then copy the URL, then paste the URL in the picture icon in the PM.
 
I have had trouble loading pic's cuz they were too big. Now I use my phone instead of my camera and it works every time.

You have to re-size your pictures, down to no more than 800 pixals wide, to be accepted on Fordbarn.
Fordbarn will just hang up and not tell you why.

There is some info on posting pictures in FAQ in the header above. Click on that and do a search for "posting pictures". There is also a "Test Forum" here where you can practice posting pictures without having to do that on a discussion forum. Give it a try...good luck.

None of these seem to have anything to do with the original post of how to post pic's in a PM

I think if you read the above posts and 51 merc-ct's advice you will see that the question was addressed.

Okay 34PKUP, maybe you can enlighten us and Model A Bill on what we should have said. Tell us how you would post pictures in a PM

It is true. Pictures can not be uploaded to a PM like they can to a post. The only way is to upload your picture to a photo hosting site as 51 MERC-CT said then copy the URL of the picture there and paste it into the Insert Image dialog box opened by the Insert Image icon above the text being entered. (Square yellow box with mountains at the bottom of it.)

The other discussion about uploading photos to posts using the paper clip icon was helpful for that application but not relevant to PM's.

You must be talking about a different PhotoBucket than I'm familiar with. The one I use no longer has IMG links under the picture. They're either to the right of the enlarged pictures or they can be accessed by hovering over the tool wheel in the top right corner of a thumbnail then clicking on "Get Links" then clicking on the IMG code to copy it and paste it into the text of the message or post.
 
Thanks guys for the help.Who would have thought that a "posting pictures" question would draw this much interest.We use shutterfly which in the same as the others I think?I was trying to take them from my camera to a pm.I will try from shutterfly(with help from my daughter) and see if that helps
