Spalding dual coil ignition system. Manufactured by the Spalding Brothers in the late ‘40s. The ignition system is based on the 21A Ford distributor, with four lobe cam and upper bearing support. The dual point pivots were re-oriented several degrees to result in equal geometry. The system uses a dual contact rotor, 2 condensers and coils. The data tag on the distributor is worded “Spalding Ignition”. This distributor is a late ‘40s unit, manufactured prior the “Flamethrower” introduced in the mid 50’s.
