Portland Swapmeet

I am considering the Portland swapmeet in 2026.
Having not been before i am looking for first hand info on where best to request a covered or indoor spot to display parts.

thanks

Tim, there are two separate swap meets. One is at Expo which has both indoor and outside swap spaces. The other is at PIR (Portland International Raceway) which is all outdoors. That one is the bigger of the two meets. They both happen at the same time. I have an indoor space as my wife always comes along. With an outside space you need to prepare for the potential of rain. If you use an E-Z Up you need to have good anchors for the legs if you are in an outside space. Over the years I have seen some nasty wind. I've been going since 1990 and selling there since 2000. Send me a private message with your phone # and we can talk over the phone more about the meet.

I work that meet. Building A will not be used for 2026 [most North bldg] Buildings are now B, C ,and D. C and D are the newest bldgs. Easy in and out entrances. 'Parts Pickup' area with free/ helpful loaders for large/heavy items. Newc OOPS! building E also, furtherest South is also new.

Since you asked in a few places I'll answer in both I have seen.

Factor in possibility of Oregon rain. Indoors might be closer to food and restrooms as a bonus.

All good reasons to have an indoor spot. I had a spot on the track for one time and it poured rain that year. My swap space flooded. Went right back up to Expo the next year and been there ever since.

I had a nice spot in building C for several years until they arbitrarily moved my space to building A. I cancelled altogether after that year.

Don't know why Dale didn't mention building E, (farthest south) I have had stalls in there for about 20 years and have already paid for my stalls there next year.
I always look forward to seeing friends from CA like TJ who is in the same building.

all great info. the maps are helpful. are there general areas for A - T - or V8 parts people or all are intermixed?

thank you!!!

So....few questions for the SWAP meet experts....IF an East coaster was making the trip out for both meets, which would be the first one to hit, first thing Friday morning.....Expo or Speedway?? I'm think I will plan to attend flying out Thursday to be there first thing Friday open. Thanks for any guidance and or suggestions

Rock, the PIR meet(track) opens on Thursday and the Expo Meet opens on Friday. So fly in on Wednesday to hit the track first. There are several hotels near both meets.

The weather report should be part of the criteria also.

Thank you very much for that tidbit of info TJ....I will adjust accordingly for sure!!!!

Over 2.5 miles around the racetrack [both sides are vendors ] and more for the pit area. Tricycle bike is the best method. I gave up cause of the Modern varity of stuff. I work and shop just the Expo now. Come and enjoy. Newc

If you are not experienced with Portland weather the meet can be anywhere from the low '30's and a couple inches of snow, heavy rain, full sun, and mid 80's. Even all on the same day! If you are coming from out of the region think about giving yourself a couple of extra days for tourista stuff (mountains, waterfalls, etc).

Karl, they would probably enjoy the Evergreen Aviation Museum and seeing the "Spruce Goose". Haven't been for a while, but they did have a Ford Tri Motor also on display.

Karl, TJ & Zeke3

I personally, have not been to Portland. My Dad, back in 2004, was out there and went to the swap meet at the track for two days but not sure he made the one at the Expo Center? TJ, I saw the Air Museum and that is definitely on my list to visit as I have been to all the BIGGY's Wright Pat, Navel Air Museum, Hill AFB, Smithsonian SO a definite must see.....Zeke3, "cold water" seafood as we get plenty of fresh "warm water" seafood ie swam in the Atlantic/Gulf of America "today" seafood here in Florida. ALSO several of my customers operate shrimp boats outta Mayport here locally SO I just make a call and I have what I want by 5pm.
Thank you for that weather tip Karl.....Look forward to meeting you guys in April!!!!
