This Friday-Sunday at the expo centre.
Don't forget there's also the racetrack, down the road, with over 2 miles of vendors opening on Thursday.
All together this is one Gimungous event which, if you attend, you won't soon forget.
Bring good shoes cuz it's 2-3 days of walking to see everything.
I'm outa here in the AM...340 miles each way for us...gotta save money on bargains :D

It's true that the Circus has come to town and the beauty parlor is filled with sailors. It's a long story on how the Circus co-opted the Swap Meet, but let me just say money was involved. As for parking, you can park free anywhere along the MAX (light rail) route on N. Interstate (or one of the side streets) and get the train northbound. The further south you go on Interstate, though, the more likely you are to get into a restricted time area. Be careful and watch for the signs. PDX is real stinky about their parking rules. The train stops right at the Swap Meet, end of the line. One-way fare is about $2.50 if you're under 65; $1 if you're a senior.

Bring an umbrella. This is Portland.

so let me understand, there is a meet at PIR and at the EXPO. Which one has more "A" and traditional hot rod parts? I mean from past experience. I don't want to spend half the day at PIR looking at camaro parts and not have time to look at the good stuff

PIR can be pretty good some years. Remember that it is downstream from EXPO and with all this rain the lower parts of it will be under a couple inches of water. Bring waders, a clam shovel, and a tide chart. Watch for bubbles, a dimple in the sand, and dig really fast - the really good parts move fast.

I gave up on the PIR/Expo swap meets years ago, and I live less than an hour away. Never could figure out why they didn't make it later in the year.
It rains about 90% of the time, and the traffic/parking is terrible. You can't tell good stuff from bad when it's soaking wet, and most sellers won't put their best stuff out in the rain anyway. Then, it's a huge hassle to get stuff back to your car which is literally miles away. I could go on, but you should have gotten the picture by now.
