poping sound

I have a problem that I can't figure out. When turning to the right about half way between center and full right turn I get a poping noise, like something is bumping. If I jack either wheel up just off the floor it won't do it, I have checked to see if anything is loose, can't find any thing wrong, Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance.

I found a noise in mine only on full right hand turns and only in reverse; the right hand brake rod was touching the wheel. Odd eh :)

it will help narrow it down if you can locate the noise. It could be a brake rod catching a tire if there is no or an incorrect spindle bolt retainer pin nut (which acts as a spindle stop). That's a tinny noise. It could also be a worn sector bushing and the noise is the sector shaft jumping in the clearance created by the wear. That sounds more like a heavy bump and resonates through the frame. It could be a broken tie rod or drag link spring which would show up as a distinct jump in the rod when the spindle ball shifts from one seat to the other.. It might be a bad or loose wheel bearing too. Get a helper and have them move the steering through the range repeatedly while you inspect each and every point for loss of motion or a jumping part.

Check that you have the ball assembly hardware for the front radius rod installed correctly.

Remember, the car leans to the left when making a right turn, so you may have to turn the wheels to the right and have a heavy weight on the left running board to see what's causing the noise, if you are doing checks with the car standing still.
