Pop Out Diagram

Does any one know of a good article or diagram of the Pop Out Ignition.

I need to repair mine as it had a intermittent short in the key.

Thanks JP

There are a couple of articles in the literature on rebuilding the ignition switch (Pop-Out)

MAFCA - The Restorer 1992, May-Jun - Page 29 (Armored ignition cable/switch restoration)

MARC - The Model A News 2014, Nov-Dec - Page 12 (Thorough Restoration)

My first stop is the MAFCA "Search" function for articles. My source MAFCA, but there are others depending on your club of choice. The search function searches and outlines at least four sources for articles including the "Restorer" and "Model A News" magazine.

One of my best MAFCA purchases was the 50 year Flash Drive which includes ALL the Restorer Magazines for that first 50 year interval. It's hard to NOT find what you're looking for in that. They're now up to Volume 70 so I have to collect in hard copy the last nearly 20 years of The Restorer.

Time for MAFCA to do a 20 year "addenda" to the original 50 year collection.

I haven't followed Model A News as closely as Restorer, but I imagine they are similar.

The Restorer series of restoration books has several good articles from the magazine over the years. The Volume V likely has the article from the old restorer magazine. There is a lot of info there. MAFCA or MARC are good clubs to join for model A folks.

Here's the print for an oval speedometer switch.

How much is a nice armored cable worth, with an original key? (body screw holes are good, and the cable is nice gloss black.)
