the Police Head with the large B cast on the top. These were made by Ford for the Police cars and were also sold to the public. Do you know how many of these heads they fabricated?

Somebody must have been desperate to pay $580.00 for that head. The Snyder 5.5 would have been better and would have saved money.

Unless you have a Pooolice Car...:D

According to my pooolice records, there were 2164 of those heads produced but only 1191 of them were actually installed on a Pooolice car. Since these records are not a matter of public record, I'm sorry but I cannot reveal the actual documentation so you will just need to take my word on this. ;)

I have one on my 28 tudor that someone, not me, ground the B off of. It looks stock and passed touring class judging in Vancouver.

I also have one the same way in my garage.. The man I got it from said it was his dads & he did it because he thought back in the day he was not even supposed to have it !!..

Dang! $580? I have one I just removed to install a Brumfield. I'd sell in a heartbeat for that price.

Carl where is your head broken? Is it cracked between the stud holes & centre coolant port or is some major piece busted out?
It got frozen with plain water and put several cracks in the top surface. There are a couple more rough places that took place while removing the head from the block. As far as I can tell, there are no cracks in the combustion chambers or the surfaces that mate with the block.

I'm not sure what others have tried, but I've seen some nice cast repairs with brass. I brazed a small area on my block where the oil downtube screws on and it flowed real nice. Not much to lose by trying maybe?

Primarily why it's on the shelf in the garage and not in the scrapyard.:)

Well, heck, If'n somebody will pay -$580- or better for a pooolice head. Just think what they would pay for the head that came off of Edsel's
custom Model-A pheaton. Why I could buy me a Snyder head bead weld
a big "E" in the middle of it, throw if out in the hog pen fer a few weeks. Then put it on flea bay along with a good yarn about it coming off of Edsel's "A" and was given to my grandpap..OOoooie, could I make me some of them yankee greenbacks, y'all. Or better yet, have a bunch
of 'm made there in Chiner and go around to all the A-Model swap meets
especially the ones in yankee land, cowboy land and even left coast land. And use the same yarn about its "0-riginality"......boy o' boy could I be in
high cotton then. Ya' know there just might be a future in making confederate....oops, I mean counterfeit A-Model parts, y'all...:p

Bob-A:D
