Polyslide spring Liner

Has anyone had any experience with the use in practise of the Polyslide Spring Liner?
I have fitted them to my springs and it was not easy!
The lips have to be trimmed where the spring fits into the chassis and you have to pre-trim for the spring clamps before attempting to assemble the springs.
Then you discover that the additional thicknesses stops one being able to fit the bolts to the clamps.
The finished product looks OK after much work, but what I would like to know, is how they perform on the road?
Many thanks,
Keith

I do not have a Model A experience, but I have used them on a 37 Chevy, and the result was amazing. Smooth as silk ride quality compared to stock.

I bought some to use on my rdstr pu, but never put them on. I chose to restore the stock springs instead. I thought by looking at them that the spring rate might suffer and it would be like riding on a bouncing ball with a car that light. Keep in mind at that time I had no experience with properly rebuilt shocks. I can see where they would really ride nice that way. Possibly even better with a modern shock package that was alittle stiffer. I would be sure to use the spring covers with them to hide the looks though. Rod

I used some in my last restoration and had a lot of trouble getting things to fit together. I had to remove the edges where ou did and had trouble fitting the spring clamps. The ride is fine, but no better than when I used a graphite paste. I would not use it again.

I used to use that stuff until I discovered John Deere "slip plate" graphite paint. I think Ford used graphite originally, and I now use the slip plate and then fit spring covers. The result is a nice ride.

Thanks guys,
I don't know if any of you use your cars like we do but ours get used in all weathers and on dusty/muddy gravel roads.
The end result is either rusty springs or the lubricant squeezed out from the springs attracts a heavy layer of dust.
I thought the Polyslide might provide lubricant without the attendant mess?
Cheers,
Keith
