Polygraphite?

Thinking of upgrading my '56 Wagon with polygraphite bushings all around. Is this a good choice? Anyone else out there made this swap? Who are some good suppliers? Thanks in advance for the help!

they are hard riding, noisy, they transfer road noise and bumps to the chassy and into the cab, most of the ones i have used and my friends have installed squeaked, i had to drill and install grease fittings for the bushings to elimate the squeaks, on the other hand they do have a long life, if your street racing or traveling on crooked roads they work good, if you want a quite and softer ride use stock bushings

Thanks Ford1, any suggestions on suppliers? I've checked the chain store websites, some have a few parts, none have all the parts?

its been about 6 years since i installed them, i didnt like them, so i dont know who has them now, try summit or speedway racing, if they dont carry then ask if they know who does

Yes' I've read on the H.A.M.B. much of the same complaints with the polygraphite. I have a Concours parts catalog and they have most if not all of the rubber bushings that I will need to replace. Thanks for your input!

They do work well for the sway bar bushings which have zirt fittings and end links,I got mine at O'Reillys they are made by Energy Suspension which does not list them by application there is a chart that shows how to measure for them(www.energysuspension.com) they turned out less expensive than the rubber in restorer catalogs, the other rubber bushings and snubbers came from Obsolete Ford.

I rebuilt my front end with stock parts, then used a heavy duty sway bar from SouthWest Thunderbird, and really good shocks. It rides nice, is quiet, and handles like a big heavy slot car.

I installed energy suspension poly bushings on my '68 El Camino at about 250k and now have close to 400k on the car. I have had no problem and no noise either. When I was contemplating the job I was warned that I should use only the dark gray/ black bushings which is the natural color. For some reason, the colored bushings all squeak. i don't know why except the dyes may alter the make up. But 150k on them with both my self and now my son driving the car every day without problems or noise tells me that I would use them again on another project if necessary.

The reason I heard was in order to get the black color graphite is used, therefore less noise.
