poll - split early V8 1932 - 53 in 2 or 3 groups

Ah heck with only 4 sub groups under general discusion plus the HAMB link, people still post car questions in the Question and Suggestion to the Editor section which is way down the home page as it is. Which is where this should have been in the first place, maybe.

I notice nothing ever gets poster for 52 & 53's it is mostly 30's with a fair spatter of 40's cars. How many would like to see the post get split? Actually 52 &53 are kind of by themselves, but say 48 - 53 ???

I think it is a great idea. It would make the search a lot shorter. Hope it happens!

Interesting, the two guys that want this have 24 post and 2 post!

I think the numbers just went up....

I'll just say that AFTER the little "tune-up" on a sister-site last year, I've totally given-up trying to figure-out how to navigate some of the mods, and the "better" layout. A whole bunch of user-friendly amenities were lost in the process. As a result, I've totally quit going to that site....BUMMER! I pray daily that THIS site remains as-is and doesn't get any updates....WONDERFUL, just as it is! Use a little wisdom and be very careful what you ask for.......ya might just get it. DD

I have not been here that long and I currently don't own a Ford older than 67. The first time I looked at this site I thought Wow, how easy it was to navigate. If you know Fords you know why everything is where it's at, if you don't know Fords it's still easy. Everything is a whole era.

My interest is strictly pre-war but I have learned a lot looking at the postwar postings and ads. Heck, I even know what a Y block is now but doubt I will ever own one unless an affordable Bird project pops up locally.

Keep your fingers crossed this site stays the way it is.
Change is not always better as V8coopman has said.

Maybe an alternative for those who would like to see a split would be to start your own website, where you can be alone/separated from this group, but as I recall, someone in the '52-'53 group had a serious engine problem not too long ago, and got a lot of good input on what was wrong from those who probably own the earlier year Flathead V8's.

I agree with the rest of you, but that's no reason to dump on the guy, he was just running a thought past you guys in here

Spot on! Prolific posting does not provide anyone the right to hammer a new guy that posts a question. Comments like, "If you don't like this site, go somewhere else" are crap. New guys have new ideas. That's a good thing.

I'm another one that says keep it the way it is. To me if you were going to change anything, it should be to include 1954 in Early V8's to include the Canadian cars with flathead V8's.

Barnfind you can also get a Y block in 55 & later cars & not just birds.

The numbers may be going up BUT not enough to change & I still believe a majority rules & new ideas are not always a better idea. Think "O****" here. I stated this before but will post it again.
THE 2nd RED LINE DOWN FROM THE TOP HAS A COUPLE OF SEARCH ENGINES THAT YOU CAN USE TO FIND WHATEVER YOU ARE LOOKING FOR, try it you may like it.

Why not have 32 to 34 ,35 to 36, 37 to 40 , 41 to 48 , 49 to 52. Now we are getting silly.
Leave Ryan alone ,he has enough to do right now.
It works fine.

I find that the longer I own the car my questions have become more age and model specific. An alternative to work with in the current system might be that I can further categorize my posts such as:

"52'-53' flathead power steering issue"

If a question about a 49-53 gets ask,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it usually gets an answer. I don't see a problem. But hey,,,,,,i always had a flat top in high school to cover my flathead. Go figure.

I'm very new here but have over 3000 posts on FTE. Over there it is split as '47 and older and next up is '48-'56. Any given moment there are 280 or so on the '48 up forum and maybe 7 or 8 on the '47 and older. I just sold a '37 truck with an 8ba and I last winter built a '47 two ton with an 8ba. I just think all the flathead powered vehicles should be in the same place. I love how there are so many older fords over here.
